Core Values Assessment
Discover What Matters Most
Every decision you make is influenced by what you value most.
Whether you’re choosing a career, navigating relationships, making financial decisions, leading a team, or pursuing God’s calling for your life, your core values quietly shape your thoughts, priorities, and actions.
The Motivationeer® Core Values Assessment helps you identify the principles that define who you are so you can live, lead, and make decisions with greater confidence, clarity, and purpose.
Rather than telling you who you should become, this assessment helps you uncover who God uniquely created you to be.
Why Your Core Values Matter
Many people experience frustration because their daily lives are out of alignment with what matters most to them.
When your work, relationships, habits, or goals conflict with your deepest values, you may experience:
- Stress and internal conflict
- Lack of motivation
- Burnout
- Decision fatigue
- Difficulty setting boundaries
- Feeling “stuck”
- Loss of purpose
When your life aligns with your core values, the opposite begins to happen.
You gain:
- Greater confidence
- Better decision-making
- Increased motivation
- Stronger relationships
- Healthier boundaries
- Clearer priorities
- A deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment
How the Assessment Works
The assessment is designed as a simple, guided process that takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
Step 1 — Explore Your Values
You’ll begin by reviewing a comprehensive list of over 50 personal values, including qualities such as:
- Integrity
- Family
- Service
- Freedom
- Joy
- Excellence
- Spirituality
- Leadership
- Honesty
- Creativity
Rather than answering traditional survey questions, you’ll simply select every value that genuinely resonates with you.
There are no right or wrong answers.
You’re encouraged to choose at least 20 values that reflect who you are today, and you may even add custom values that are uniquely meaningful to you.
Step 2 — Narrow Your Focus
Next, you’ll carefully reduce your selections to your Top Eight values.
This step encourages thoughtful reflection by asking you to distinguish between values that are important and those that are truly foundational.
Many participants discover that several of their values naturally support one another, making it easier to identify what drives them at the deepest level.
Step 3 — Identify Your Top Five Core Values
Finally, you’ll narrow your list one last time to your Top Five Core Values.
These become your personal decision-making compass.
Your Top Five represent the principles that most consistently influence:
- Relationships
- Career choices
- Leadership style
- Communication
- Goal setting
- Conflict resolution
- Personal growth
- Spiritual development
These values provide a practical framework for making decisions that are consistent with the person you want to become.
Reflection and Personal Growth
Identifying your values is only the beginning.
The assessment also guides you through reflective coaching questions such as:
- Which of your core values are currently being honored?
- Which values have been neglected?
- What changes would bring your life into greater alignment?
- What is one action you can take this week to live more intentionally?
These reflection exercises transform the assessment from simply identifying values into creating meaningful personal growth and lasting behavioral change.
Your Personalized PDF Report
At the end of the assessment, you’ll receive a professionally formatted PDF report that includes:
- Your complete list of selected values
- Your Top Eight Values
- Your Top Five Core Values
- Your personal reflections
- Your action commitments
- Your coaching preparation summary
This report becomes a valuable resource for future coaching sessions and personal reflection.
How This Helps During Coaching
Knowing your core values gives your coach a much deeper understanding of what truly motivates you.
Instead of focusing only on behaviors or goals, coaching conversations become centered on:
- Why you make certain decisions
- What naturally motivates you
- Where internal conflict may exist
- How to align your daily life with your deepest convictions
- Practical steps toward lasting transformation
Your Core Values Assessment serves as a foundation for many other Motivationeer® coaching tools, helping create a personalized coaching experience that reflects your unique strengths, priorities, and calling.
A Biblical Perspective
Scripture reminds us:
“Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.”
Proverbs 4:23 (NASB95)
Our values influence the condition of our hearts, our choices, and ultimately the direction of our lives.
The Core Values Assessment is designed to help you examine those priorities with honesty, wisdom, and intentionality so you can pursue a life that reflects both your God-given design and your deepest convictions.
What Makes This Assessment Different?
Unlike personality tests that categorize you into a type, the Motivationeer® Core Values Assessment helps you identify the enduring principles that guide your life. It doesn’t label you—it equips you. By combining personal reflection, practical action steps, and a biblical coaching perspective, it provides a foundation for intentional decision-making, authentic leadership, healthier relationships, and lasting personal growth.
