Thought Tuning Steps

A Christian cognitive restructuring process that helps you recognize when your thoughts have drifted off course. Follow the six steps to uncover how a thought influences your feelings and actions, realign with your core values, and re-tune your thinking so your emotions and behavior reflect God’s truth.

"Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things." — Philippians 4:8 (NASB95)
The Process

The Thought Tuning™ Process Map

Read each row across, including the Explanation of what is happening, the Behavior step on the center line, and the Thought Tuning question. Remember, we feel the way we do because of what we tell ourselves about what is happening, not simply because of what is happening.

The pivot is simple. If your current thought does not produce the feeling you want, and therefore the action you want, change the thought. As your thinking changes, your feelings begin to change, and your actions soon follow.

Realize Current Feeling
Past experience influences present thoughts
Step 1
